Rocketed from the dying planet Mondas as an infant, Paul Riddell for quite a long time was a regular contributor to various science fiction and comics magazines and Web sites, including the sadly defunct Savant, where he brought the term “Cat Piss Man” to its current high level of popularity. These days, he runs the exotic plant resource blog “The Texas Triffid Ranch”, where he tries to bring carnivorous and prehistoric plants to the same level of public notice. Andrea Grimes at the Dallas Observer referred to him as looking like an “off-duty superhero”, and the jury’s still out as to whether she was referring to Alec Holland or Irwin Schwab.
